Inspired by our love of rummaging through markets and car boot sales, and want to find a way to support the incredible small businesses we had discovered in South London, in December 2019 we set up A South London Makers Market.

After 500 people turned up to our first event, we knew we’d accidentally stumbled into something amazing. That one day sparked something inside us both and we’ve been driven forward by that passion ever since.

We’ve since hosted more than 30 markets online, 10 markets in real life, and have hosted two pop-ups inside the legendary Selfridges. We’ve been lucky enough to work with more than 600 of the most amazing small businesses from around the world.

We think the retail industry is due a major shake-up and we want to be at the forefront of that. By championing talented makers who are reviving traditional crafts in exciting new ways, we hope to inspire a whole generation to shop small more than ever before.
